Audio Recorder and Editor (Android package rierie.media.audiorecorder) is developed by YANG XIAOQING, an independent developer using the public name rierie501. Contact rierie501@gmail.com for privacy questions, support or deletion requests.
The app accesses the microphone when you choose to record and grant permission. Recording, playback, editing, effects, mixing, merging and conversion process audio on your device. The app stores working recordings, names, metadata, preferences and processing state locally. Files selected through Android's file picker may be copied into working storage. Optional audio-library access allows browsing device audio. The developer does not operate a recording-upload, transcription or cloud-sync backend.
User-started recording, playback and processing can continue in foreground services when you leave the app. Android notifications provide status and controls where available. Manage microphone, media and notification permissions in Android Settings.
Completed audio may be copied to shared device media storage. You can select another document or output folder, including one offered by a cloud provider. That provider can upload the audio and filename. Later saves may use the selected folder until you change it. Sharing transfers selected audio to the receiving app you choose; WhatsApp sharing may first create a local AAC copy. Providers and recipients control their copies under their own privacy practices.
Older releases, including production 1.6.1 (code 29) and internal QA 1.6.2 (code 30), allow Android backup without an app-specific allowlist. Depending on device settings and provider limits, backups may include app files, recordings and preferences. The planned restoration update restricts Android backup and device transfer to the recording-name-prompt preference, excluding recordings, metadata, purchase receipts, output destinations and processing state. These changes apply only after that update is installed; they do not erase old backups.
Export recordings you want to keep before uninstalling, clearing app data or replacing your device. Imported originals, shared copies, cloud files, recipient copies and old backups can remain after local deletion. Manage those separately through their providers.
The app contains Google AdMob advertising. Recognized premium ownership removes ads. Google's advertising SDK can collect and share IP/network information, approximate location inferred from IP, advertising/app/device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and technical diagnostics. Purposes include advertising, measurement and analytics, fraud prevention and security. Advertising partners may process data for their own purposes.
The restoration builds use Google's User Messaging Platform for advertising privacy choices. When required and available, Settings → Ad privacy choices reopens the privacy options. Android also provides advertising-ID controls. Limited or non-personalized ads may still process technical information. Availability of choices depends on region, applicable requirements and Google's services.
Older releases, including production code 29, integrate Firebase Analytics, Firebase Performance, Firebase Remote Config, legacy Google Analytics and Fabric/Crashlytics. These services can process app/device identifiers and characteristics, approximate location, sessions and actions, purchase events, performance/network measurements and crash/error reports for measurement, configuration and troubleshooting. Legacy error reports can contain recording paths, filenames and exception traces; this is metadata, not an audio attachment. The inspected first-party diagnostic calls do not attach recordings.
Internal QA code 30 still contains Firebase Analytics, Remote Config and legacy Google Analytics. The planned privacy-minimized restoration update removes these analytics/configuration/performance integrations and remote crash reporting. AdMob and Google Play Billing remain and can process service diagnostics. A new update does not erase previously transmitted information or change the behavior of older installed versions. Historical provider retention depends on the service and its settings; the six-month support-email policy below does not describe provider retention.
Google Play processes purchases using your Play account. Restoration builds query ownership, acknowledge completed purchases and keep signed purchase information locally to recognize premium access, including offline access after verification. There is no developer-operated purchase-validation backend. The app does not receive card or bank details entered in Google's payment screen. Clearing local data does not erase Google's transaction records, cancel ownership or issue a refund. Google Play processes its own purchase/service information under Google's policies.
If you send support email, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send, and uses them to respond and resolve the issue. Opening the external email composer does not automatically send a recording. Support emails and attachments are retained for six months, unless you request earlier deletion.
To request deletion of support information: email rierie501@gmail.com from the address you used to contact support. Identify the correspondence you want deleted; do not send passwords or payment-card details. The developer verifies the request through that address and deletes matching support messages and attachments under their control, then confirms completion.
For other information you believe the developer holds, contact the same address. The developer will assess what can be identified and deleted and explain any limits. Some historical analytics records cannot be linked to a support email. The developer cannot directly delete records controlled independently by Google Play, advertising services, backup providers or recipients; use their privacy controls as appropriate. Deleting support correspondence does not revoke premium ownership.
Local recordings have no automatic expiry. Use the app's Delete function to remove working files and tracked shared copies; provider failures may prevent removal. You control additional originals, exports and backups. The app has no developer account-registration system, so there is no separate Audio Recorder and Editor account to delete.
Android app storage restricts ordinary access by other apps; shared/exported files follow the destination's controls. The app does not add a password or application-level encryption to recordings. Google documents encrypted transport for its advertising services. The developer does not guarantee encryption for every destination or external app a user selects. Providers may process information outside your country.
The app targets people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Contact the developer if you believe a child has provided personal information. Policy updates will be posted at this address with a revised effective date.
